This Privacy Policy explains how FatCouple OÜ (“FatCouple”, “we”, “us” or “our”), the company that operates prosopoi (the “Service”, available at prosopoi.com and related domains), collects, uses, and shares personal data when you use the Service.

FatCouple OÜ is a private limited company established in Estonia (European Union) and acts as the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. By using the Service you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account data you provide through sign-in, such as your name, email address, preferred language and profile picture.
Content you submit — transcript suggestions, speaker tags, votes, comments and similar contributions — stored together with your account identifier.
Payment data, processed by our payment provider Stripe. We receive limited transaction and subscription details but never your full card number.
Usage and analytics data — pages viewed, events, approximate location, and device and browser information — collected through Google Analytics and similar tools.
Cookies and similar identifiers, communications you send us, and server logs and other technical data.

2. How we use your information

We may aggregate or de-identify data and use it for any purpose.

To provide, operate, maintain, secure and improve the Service.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To process payments and manage subscriptions.
To understand how the Service is used and to develop new features.
To prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
To communicate with you about the Service and respond to your requests.
To comply with legal obligations, and to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights and enforce our Terms.

3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:

Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you request.
Our legitimate interests — to operate, secure, analyse, improve and promote the Service and to protect our rights, balanced against your interests and rights.
Your consent — for example, for non-essential analytics cookies where required; you may withdraw consent at any time.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers and processors who help us run the Service, including Stripe (payments), Google (analytics), Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery and security), Amazon Web Services (hosting), and our authentication provider.
The relevant channel or creator, where you contribute to their content. Contributions may be shown publicly — by default without your name, unless you opt in to public credit.
Other parties where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety and property of FatCouple OÜ, our users, or the public.
A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.

5. International transfers

Because we and our service providers operate globally, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where we do so, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain de-identified or aggregated data indefinitely.

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR), you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict or object to certain processing, receive your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent.

The Service uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to function, and analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
